CoinedUp is being a busy bee lately, and we applaud them for that. The CoinedUp exchange is adding a lot of potentially great coins , and is an excellent first exchange to be listed on. The latest CoinedUp addition is called VertCoin!
VertCoin was released on January 8th, so it’s not even a week old. To see it on CoinedUp already , is a feather in the cap for the VertCoin team, to say the least. But there are some unique features about VertCoin you should be aware of, so let’s take a look under the hood :
– Scrypt-Adaptive-Nfactor algorithm. Do not confuse this with Scrypt-Jane, as it’s not the same. What this does is make the coin ASIC-resistant.
– Nfactor is 10 to start with. This was decided by a community poll vote. (Smart move!)
– Impossible to GPU-mine from the start, because of the high Nfactor. Special mining software will need to be developed in order to mine this with GPU’s.
If you ever needed a reason to let your CPU mine some coins, while your GPU is doing other things, VertCoin would be a good coin to start mining.
Check out the official VertCoin website , and the official VertCoin BitcoinTalk thread.
UPDATE: VertCoin can be GPU-mined as well. For more information, please check the BitcoinTalk thread.
