Since the inception of Bitcoin and Litecoin, those have always been the two names people would hear most about : what is Bitcoin doing, what is Litecoin doing? It seems however, that times have changed, and all the talk has been focused around Bitcoin. Which is a good thing.
Not such a good thing for Litecoin though I’m afraid. Over the past six months, the only newsworthy Litecoin news has been about …. uhm….Yeah, there hasn’t been anything newsworthy really.
Even though Litecoin has established a nice price in US Dollars, or Euro, or whichever fiat currency you prefer, that’s about all that has happened to it : it gained value. Why though? A question no one really ahs the answer to…
Is it because the Asian market adopted Litecoin? It could very well be. An upward price trend was expected anyway, sooner or later. Did it ride the coattails of the Bitcoin price jump? Most likely, as people got a bit too excited when it came to Litecoin.
But what has happened around Litecoin developmental-wise? Any new services? Nope. More sites accepting Litecoin as a payment option? Nope. Was it the Litecoin Bank? Nope, because that project has been cancelled and will be delisted on CryptoStocks in a week.
It appears as if Litecoin is losing its grasp on that precious “second” spot when it comes to cryptocurrency talks. All people are talking about is Bitcoin, Bitcoin, and Bitcoin. Litecoin is mentioned very rarely.
We could very well be facing a new surge to take over Litecoin’s spot. But to do that, you would need a lot of attention from the media in general, and your name would have to be mentioned left, right and center for that to happen. If only there was such a coin…..
Oh wait, there is, it’s called DogeCoin! A coin that has taken the world by storm for various reasons, and is gradually taking over Litecoin’s spotlight in the world of cryptocurrency. Heck, it’s even becoming easierto buy goods with DogeCoin than it ever was with LiteCoin.
Could DogeCoin become the new Litecoin? There’s always a possibility for strange things to happen. If the Litecoin developers don’t pick up the pace, they will be slowly begin to fade away in people’s minds, which would be a shame.
Can you remember that time when Litecoin helped a bobsled team to gather money for the upcoming Olympics? Neither can I, but DogeCoin made the impossible look possible again for those people, and the whole world saw it happen….
