Today, we will see the relaunch of GPU Coin, an interesting alternative cryptocurrency with some very interesting and ambitious goals.
Let’s start off with all the technical aspects first, and then we’ll get to the juicy, good stuff everyone who’s reading this article is really interested in.
GPU Coin is a Scrypt-N coin, and uses Kimoto’s Gravity Well for difficulty retargetting. This should ensure a rather fair distribution of mined coins from the get go.
Initial block rewards for GPU Coin grant you 20,000 GPUC, and these rewards will halve every 250,000 blocks. These blocks are generated every 60 seconds.
There will be a maximum supply of 13,500,000,000 GPU Coin, and about 400,000,000 of those are pre-mined, both for the IPO and bounties/future development.
The plan for GPU Coin is to have an online store up and running roughly two weeks after launch. Smart people will have calculated by now that this should be somewhere in the week of March 17th.
This store will allow customers to purchase the latest line of GPUs, and they can only be paid for using GPU Coin. Smart strategy so far!
From what we can gather, the team behind GPU Coin already has a deal in place with two distributors, and contacts have been sent out to get more distributors on board.
The idea is to price these GPUs as aggressively as possible, so that the entire GPU Coin community can benefit from it.
Shipping to the US , as well as international shipping, will be made available. Keep in mind however, that international shipping will bring an extra charge with it.
GPU coin has stated that you can trade this new cryptocurrency on the BitTrex exchange as soon as the coin has launched. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
