The following is an officialstatement regarding the FlutterCoin Multipool Beta launch::
Our initial plan for the beta period was to only open the pool to a private group of 40 miners. As we began to send mining information to the selected individuals, we noticed that the increase in the number of miners was much larger than it was supposed to be.
We watched this trend continue for a little while before concluding that it must be due to one of our users leaking out the pool information. At this point our team decided that it would be most fair to the community if we posted the mining details publicly.
Our reasoning behind not announcing this is that we want to maintain a relatively low pool size while it is fine tuned. So essentially the multipool has shifted from private beta to a “soft” launch of sorts.
Please note: The FlutterCoin Multipool is still in the beta period and will be undergoing various changes and tests. We appreciate your patience through this process and promise to consistently improve our services.
Other pool announcements (For full disclosure/transparency):
1. Pool dwelled on a small coin too long (Coino) and this may have resulted in forking, as our deposit to the exchange has never appeared. We have put measures in place to ensure that pool hashrate will be matched closer to coin networks in the future.
2. 3,600 FLT distributed in round 1 of payments. Waiting on a Cryptsy withdrawal for the last 13,500 FLT and then we will do round 2. The delay is quite unusual and we will be using more reliable exchanges in the future until this problem is addressed.
3. Round and share data is preserved and can be released through a per-miner basis on request until miner query is working on fluttercoinpool.com. We plan to have this operational in the very near future.
Looks like FlutterCoin is firing on all cylinders, despite the “leaked” pool information. The 24 hour trading volume on MintPal is over 170 Bitcoin. I’m really impressed with FlutterCoin, and how they’ve handled things. Kudos!
