It appears as if CoinPayments has opened up a new vote in order to let the crypto community decide which coin(s) to add. Surprisingly enough to a lot of people, AsiaCoin is leading that vote right now by quite a margin.
First of all, allow me to say that, in order to cast a vote on the CoinPayments poll, you have to pay 0.001 Bitcoin, which is very cheap. Each user can only submit one vote, as your IP is logged for future reference.
The proceeds of these “paid” votes will not be kept by CoinPayments themselves either. All funds will be sent to The Water Project, which, at this point in time, is the biggest charitable organisation accepting cryptocurrency donations.
As we have seen in the past, it’s not a smart idea to try and trick the system, as it will backfire. CoinPayments have had polls won by certain coins and then disqualify them for trying to cheat the system, because they paid users to vote.
Considering all of this, seeing AsiaCoin in the lead must mean there are a lot of people who really and honestly want to see AsiaCoin listed on CoinPayments. This shouldn’t come as a surprise since the community took over AsiaCoin recently.
The competition is quite stiff though, as other popular coins such as GroestlCoin, UltraCoin, FlutterCoin, MyriadCoin and others are all vying for the top spot, which is currently firmly held by AsiaCoin, with a lead of 13 votes.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the coming days, and we will keep you updated on the situation if anything would change.
