Apparently there is some minor controversy going around where DarkCoin is concerned. There are rumours going around about a hidden pre-mine in some of the blocks viewable on both block explorers. Let’s see what is really going on.
I usually don’t like to give much credibility to rumours, but that doesn’t mean I mind checking up on them and see if they hold any merit. Luckily, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, I can’t find anything wrong at this point in time.
The blocks people are talking about are numbers 4,137 and 24,138. While it is true that both blocks seem to hold a lot more value than they normally should, that doesn’t mean anything malicious has been going on either.
As you can see when looking up both blocks on either of the two DarkCoin block explorers, they also hold a lot more transactions than most blocks. It’s a very odd thought to see this is a hidden pre-mine by any means.
DarkCoin has always been known for its transparency, from day one, so it would truly shock me if there would be a hidden pre-mine at all. I do appreciate people showing legitimate concern for these things, but there is nothing to worry about folks.
I also found two sources in regards to DarkCoin which have been rather helpful when looking into this matter more :

A little bird told me that there is a rival coin setting up a fake masternode not updated on purpose so it keeps creating problems in the blockchain in order to drive the price down. Invest in Dark and don’t let detractors stop you!
Darkcoin comes from the Dev that brought you many of the innovations the copycats are now using. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!
But seriously, it takes only a couple of clicks to check the background of the Twitter FUDsters that started this tonight… Go see their full profiles and get some of that ol’ critical thinking – it gets plain to see!
You have many connections to other coins… Asiacoin bagholders, Cinni pushers, CAIx pumpers, BC manipulators, plus all the latest P&D coins… hell, they have been calling for a Darkcrash for weeks!
There are even some that are constantly wrong on their predictions yet idiots flock to them like flies to a pile of poo. Don’t touch idiocy, it’s contagious.
At the end of the day, would you trust a person with such history to give you financial advices?
Now go and invest wisely – in Darkcoin!
I dumped all my DRK when I first heard about this, but its stupid. The normal amount of 500 coins was created in that block.
The 186k was a transfer.

Darkcoin’s bubble will burst very soon and this shitcoin will end like the rest of other shitcoins competing with Bitcoin
This is a pre-mine. No other way to explain it.
I’m not technical enough to comment on such matters, but Evan Duffield being a brilliant coder is not a valid defense for crookedness either. History is loaded with brilliant people who abuse the trust of many to profit themselves, while this premine accusation may be baseless, when you add it on top of the 24 hr instamine controversy it just looks bad and the market responds accordingly.
loool someboady said it! twitter idiots saying omg sell drk is premined but then say hey asiacoin good comeback, btw buy caix yelowcoin and pinkcoin so i can get rich… morons are thoose who follow idiots lool
