It has been reasonably quiet around Litecoin for a while now, but that doesn’t mean the coin has gone by unnoticed. If you take a look at the recent value of Litecoin, both in US Dollars as well as the BTC/LTC trading pair on exchanges, you will see the value has been pretty stable. However, no big marketing announcements have come from Litecoin. So what’s up with that?
For those of you who have never heard of either Bittylicious or Quark, a short explanation is in order. Quark is a Crypto coin, released in 2013. It has a big community behind it , and is also listed as one of many supported coins on CoinPayments. Quark, the coin , is not to be confused with “kwark , a sort of yoghurt quite popular in Belgium and The Netherlands.
Bittylicious on the other hand, is a webiste where you can buy and sell Bitcoins. Operating from the United Kingdom, it can be compared to LocalBitcoins, a site allowing people to buy and sell Bitcoins on their local market. The more options we have to buy and sell, the better, right?
The Cryptocurrency community should be all about helping each other out, and sharing as much information as possible without prejudice. As we have seen in the past, this is not always the case, but we at CryptoArticles will attempt to change that.
I want to introduce you to BaconBits, a Scrypt coin that has no real marketing team but might be worth a moment of your precious time. Trading under the name “YUM” , it is still waiting to be picked up by an exchange at the time of this writing. Maybe this small article will help, maybe not, but trying won’t hurt.
The future is looking grim for MoonCoin. While the community is rallying people to vote on the CoinPayments Poll, CoinedUp, currently the only exchange listing MoonCoin, will remove the MoonCoin/Bitcoin trading pair soon. This does not mean MoonCoin will no longer be supported by CoinedUp, but only the MoonCoin/Litecoin trading pair will remain active for the foreseeable future.
As MoonCoin is not listed anywhere else besides CoinEx, it doesn’t seem likely that any major exchange will pick it up any time soon. The exception to this might be Cryptsy, as they have a plethora of coins in the LItecoin trading market.
Should you ever find yourself in a situation where you are looking to either buy or sell something for Cryptocurrency, there is one golden rule of thumb you need to be aware of : use an Escrow service!
The reason this needs to be expressed is because a lot of people tend to forget that payments with Cryptocurrency are non-reversible. If you do an online payment with traditional means, such as a credit card or PayPal, and something isn’t to your satisfaction, there is always the option to obtain a refund within a reasonable time limit.
Even though most, if not all altcoins have been down-trending over the past few days because of the Bitcoin value rising, things seem to be picking up again. Especially Digitalcoin is seeing a nice increase in value over the past 24 hours, by as much as 25%! We can only hope that more altcoins will follow suit and increase their value, preferably in USD value of course.
The reason behind the increasing value of Digitalcoin seems to be coming from the Chinese exchange BTC38. As you may know, Digitalcoin has been listed there for quite some time now, and has done pretty well for itself so far. The trading volume has reached new heights at 3.1 million Digitalcoin being exchanged in the past 24 hours, on BTC38 alone.
Ooh, mommy, he said a dirty word! Shut up you wuss, and read on. Earlier today, I mentioned how naming your coin is important, and to not name it after celebrities or any (potentially) trademarked names, companies, etc. However, you can also take the approach of naming a coin after something as old as the street. In this case, sex. Are you getting warm yet?
I can only applaud the fact that we here in Belgium can use our “ normal” credit card to buy Crypto coins.
We here in Belgium hadn’t gotten the opportunity to buy Crypto coins with our “normal” credit cards before.
Using Bancontact/Mister Cash will make buying Crypto coins a lot easier and possible for a broader group
of Crypto lovers and enthousiasts. The questions remains how reliable it will be. How safe is it using
Bancontact/Mister Cash? How honest and trustworthy will it be using the Dutch Bitcoin exchange to
buy Crypto coins?
When things go south, it’s easy to lose hope and/or faith in a coin. Androids Tokens is one of those coins that has gone through some very rough patches during its still young life.
Released in Q3 2013, Androids Tokens got adopted pretty fast in the Crypto coin community. We like big rewards and we cannot lie! Either way, the coin had some good community support from the get-go, along with a good amount of pools to mine on.
You have probably all heard of “Coinye West” by now. It’s a scrypt coin, which has been released quite recently. To gather attention to the coin, the people behind the coin decided to name if after a very famous artist. To get your coin some exposure, naming it after “cool” things is always a good idea. Going after celebrities, however, might not be the smartest move….
