ChangeTip, possibly one the easiest and most convenient ways of tipping random people on the internet, has expanded their services to include tipping on both the Facebook and Slack platforms. Even though no official blog post has been released by the ChangeTip team, users are able to connect their Facebook and Slack accounts through this URL.
Having personally used ChangeTip for quite some time now, I have to admit I really enjoy the service. That is from a receiving tips point of view, as I have yet to tip anyone through ChangeTip. But with the addition of both Facebook and Slack to the list of available tipping options, that might change a lot sooner than you’d think.
In order to connect your Facebook and/or Slack account to your ChangeTip account, head on over to this page. Click the “Connect” button next to the appropriate platform, and authorize access for ChangeTip. One of the main things I like about the Changetip-Facebook integration is how the authorization process does NOT ask you to approve/disallow Changetip from posting on your Facebook wall. It’s little touches like these which go a long way with a lot of users.
The same can be said for linking your Changetip account to your Slack account. All it takes is one small authorization acknowledgement, and you are all set. Whereas most application authorization procedures can prove to be a bit of a pain in the neck, connecting your ChangeTip account to other platforms is one of the most pleasant experiences I’ve had so far.
Even though users can integrate both their Facebook and Slack accounts with ChangeTip, it remains a bit unclear as to how the tipping will work on both platforms. No official commands have been revealed as of yet, and the experimenting I did on both platforms proved to be rather unsuccessful. We will keep an eye out for further updates from the ChangeTip team.
