Creating use cases for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is not always as easy as one would think. Setting up a faucet where random users can claim free coins at certain intervals is a great model, but these kinds of projects lead to people collecting far less “actual” value than the would like. ChangeTip is trying to make this more fun for all parties involved, thanks to their One Time Tip Link.
We have been covering the efforts being made by ChangeTip a few days ago, and they keep on rolling out awesome feature after awesome feature. In order for us to make more people around the global aware of Bitcoin and digital currencies, we need companies to adapt their business strategies, and ChangeTip is on the right track so far.
ChangeTip’s One Time Tip Link servers multiple purposes in order to get people acquainted with the Bitcoin phenomenon. Most of us have daily conversations via e-mail or Skype, yet it was not possible to send someone Bitcoin directly through either method of communication without asking for their Bitcoin wallet address first. Besides, you can hardly ask for that kind of information when talking to someone for the very first time, or when it is someone you hardly talk to at all.
This playing field is now wide open thanks to the One Time Tip Link. Log in to your ChangeTip account, click the “One Time Tip” menu option, enter the amount you want to send (either in fiat currency or by using one of their monikers) , hit the “Create Tip URL” and you are all set to go! Do keep in mind you need some funds in your ChangeTip account before you can actually create a One Time Tip Link.
Furthermore, the use of ChangeTip’s One Time Tip Link is not just limited to using online forms of communication. Users can send money to anyone in the world via other platforms, such as SMS, text, iMessage, et cetera. There are no limits to what you can do with this new tool or to how you can adapt it to suit your needs best.
This new feature will also lead to more and more websites and platforms holding unique contests. When reading through the official ChangeTip Blog post, I came across a story of Martin Holland, who set up an online scavenger hunt by hiding money in some of his posts online. A really wonderful idea and a great way to showcase the technology behind ChangeTip and Bitcoin.
As a result, I decided to do something similar, and create a ChangeTip One Time Tip Link myself. Instead of embedding that link somewhere, I will send it to one lucky winner who either retweeted the article, or posted a comment on Reddit. The contest will run for 24 hours and end on January 8th at 10:20AM GMT+1. Good luck!
