For our final article of the day, we have some more updates in regards to CloakCoin and their PoSA feature. A new client update has been released, and there are some important changes, so let’s take a look!
The first big change comes in the form of nodes relaying only announcements from the node itself to other nodes. Previously, nodes would relay any PoSA Availability Announcements broadcasted on the network.
As a result, the user view of the PoSA network only shows those PoSA nodes you are directly connected to (which are counted as peers). All other nodes will no longer be visible to you, in order to avoid confusion.
The second big chance comes in the form of a check message which will wait for acknowledgement before sending the transaction. If this check message times out, the sending of coins will not take place. It’s a sort of a “ready check”, which is a nice change.
PoSA testing is currently still going on, and a public version is expected to be released in the very near future. As of this writing, we have not received an official ETA yet, but we will keep an eye out for further announcements.
