I really like to watch a good documentary once in a while. Not just because it’s more relaxing compared to watching a movie or TV show, but because I like to learn new things. Today, I received an email about an upcoming feature-length documentary covering DogeCoin and emerging altcoins. That really got me excited!
You may have noticed my other article about a documentary, called Bitcoin : The End of Money As We Know it, which has gotten great attention from our readers. In case you missed the article, you can find it here.
The thing with most documentaries about Crypto is that they always seem to go after Bitcoin. Understandably so, as it is the “grandfather” of money 2.0. But Bitcoin isn’t the only Crypto with a big name though.
DogeCoin, the world’s most famous alternative Crypto out there, deserves some love as well. That is what this documentary will be about : showing the world there are other positive Cryptos out there that aren’t Bitcoin.
This documentary will be called “Coined : The Story of Cryptocurrency” . I really like the title, as it will do exactly that : tell a story about cryptocurrency, what they are, and what they mean for all of us, the enthusiasts and the newcomers.
Even though there is a lot of technological baggage to go through when explaining Cryptocurrency to people, Coined : The Story of Cryptocurrency will take a different approach. This documentary will be all about telling the personal stories of the people behind the Crypto, which is in this case, DogeCoin.
The people working on Coined : The Story of Cryptocurrency are not just randomly thrown together either. With Adam Cornelius, an award-winning director of the documentaries “Ecstasy of Order : The Tetris Masters” and “People Who Do Noise”, you can expect a professional documentary about cryptocurrency.
Chris Higgins, contributor to This American Life, Mental Floss, The Atlantic , The Magazine , as well as being an author, is the writer working on Coined : The Story of Cryptocurrency. This team is getting more awesome by the minute!
Some of the people interviewed for this documentary include Josh Wise (NASCAR DogeCar driver), Billy Markus (creator of DogeCoin) Josh Mohland (creator of Dogetipbot) and the Moolah Crew.
In order to finance filming of the new digital currency stories as they developed, Coined : The Story of Cryptocurrency launched a Kickstarter campaign. The funding goal is $72,000 and with a bit of support from the DogeCoin community, should not take long to reach.
