CoinPayments is one of the more popular payment gateways for digital currency and altcoins, as they work together with a ton of different coins. Not to mention they don’t charge hefty fees per transactions, which is always a plus if you ask me. Did you know they received financing from Newnote Financial?
Even though this news has been announced a few days ago, I haven’t seen it show up anywhere so far. Either way, I really enjoy using CoinPayments as a payment gateway, as they have always treated their customers and merchants well, and their support is quite outstanding.
While the name Newnote Financial might not be a household name in the crypto enthusiasts circles just yet, they are a pioneering cryptocurrency and Bitcoin related software products and services company. Their biggest focus is on delivering opportunities to startup business worldwide.
One of the reasons why Newnote Financial ook an interest in CoinPayments Inc. is because they have become the third largest digital currency payment processor. With over 7,500 merchants in 120 different countries, CoinPayments Inc. has become a global name in the world of cryptocurrency.
Month-by-month, CoinPayments processes near US$1m in transactions, conducted through one of over 50 different altcoins accepted on the platform. Furthermore, CoinPayments Inc. manages the largest Crypto store directory on the internet.
This success can be attributed to CoinPayments offering their merchants a Point-of-Sale checkout system available in no less than 24 different languages. On top of that, 21 different shopping cart plugins are supported, including OpenCart, Zen Cart, WordPress and WooCommerce.
The way CoinPayments earns revenue is by charging a small transaction fee, advertising and other merchant services. By giving new digital currency developers an easy-to-use platform to reach merchants and a listing in the store directory, CoinPayments has seen its business grow over time.
A competitive advantage of Coinpayments is that it offers the largest multi-crypto-currency wallet on the web supporting over 50 different crypto-currencies at no additional cost. Web wallets are convenient and can be accessed from any mobile device or desktop computer. Balances can be applied directly during checkout with any of their merchants.
Analysts are optimistic about the growth trend for CoinPayments through 2015. Revenue, transaction volume and the number of registered clients are all expected to triple by June 2015, at the current rate of growth.
The financial injection by Newnote Financial comes in the form of CAD$100,000, plus 1.5 million NEU shares priced at US$0,15 , as well as 600,000 warrants picked up at US$1,00. In return for this financial boost, Newnote Financial obtained a 20% equity stake in CoinPayments.
“We are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve the services we offer our merchant customers. This deal with Newnote is in the best interests of our customers and the emerging peer-to-peer payment marketplace as a whole. Credit for this deal and our many advancements to date goes to a great Coinpayments team, which I am delighted to say, includes the original Coinpayments.net founders.”
-Alex Alexandrov, CoinPayments Inc. CEO & Chairman
Paul Dickson, Newnote President and CEO states: “This is a strategic investment for us for a multitude of reasons. Payment processing is clearly the most lucrative area of crypto-currencies and our primary focus. Our proprietary crypto-currency exchange platform will enable merchants to liquidate crypto-currencies for cash and then wire to their accounts through our previously announced partner Net-Cents.”
