By the looks of things, it seems like the Darkcoin development team has added yet another member. A freelance developer under the name of Vertoe has joined the ranks, so we will look into that a bit more. There is also a lot of information about the next client update, and a lot more!
Vertoe (aka vertoe) is an academic grade software engineer fallen in love with C/C++ programming. By working as a freelance programmer for a well known NGO , in the area of net activism, Vertoe’s attention was drawn to cryptocurrency, and Darkcoin in particular.
As a result of this growing personal interest, Vertoe recently started backporting upstream features, in order to enable a modern Darkcoin Core reference implementation. There is still some debate on Vertoe’s gender, but that doesn’t influence the talents being brought to the table.
However, the Darkcoin team is not just about the developers, even though they play a key role in the future enhancement of DRK. The entire Darkcoin team counts many members, and a more “official” list of team members (aside from developers) has been posted here.
Last but not least, we have received some more information about what we can expect from the next DRK client release. One of the most important things is working on closing any and all security vulnerabilities to be found,
DarkSend mixing is being reworked as we speak, as it has the occasional habit of getting stuck when mixing a transaction for some reason. The developers also feel DarkSend is not as user friendly as it could be, so there is work to be done in that area as well.
As a result of reworking DarkSend, the mixing time should be as fast as 4-8 hours at 8 rounds. With a reduced time, the feature will also become easier to use for the everyday user, which helps in killing two birds with one stone.
One of the aspects of improving the user friendliness can be found in how DarkSend mixing feedback is being sent to the user. More information on this change is expected in the near future, and we will keep an eye out for future updates.
There are several parts of the DarkSend and DRK Masternode code which are quite difficult to understand without prior technical knowledge. These parts of the code will be redone, in order to make it easier to understand how the code works exactly.
Another important change can be found in the upgrade to Bitcoin code base 0.9.3. This is where Vertoe is making some great efforts, as this upgrade is based on Darkcoil, which is pretty much all of his/her handiwork. More details will follow soon as we get closer to the release date.
Once the new DRK client has been released, the plan is to open source the InstantX code and merge it into the project. Developers from other coins are encouraged and invited to take a closer look at the InstantX implementation, and feedback is appreciated.
