When we try to explain Bitcoin to novice users, it’s always a good idea to “show them how it is done”. In order to do so, you can pull out your laptop or mobile device, show them your favorite Bitcoin wallet and explain the inner workings a bit. But even then, that might be a bit difficult to grasp for certain people, as they want nothing to do with any of the technical details, but rather just be able to send and receive money with no extra bells and whistles.
Easbit has officially launched their “granny-proof” Bitcoin wallet, which is available on the Android operating system. Similar to “granny-proof” smartphones, the Easbit Bitcoin wallet is focusing all its attention on ease-of-use, yet ensuring user privacy and providing a secure and robust service to novice users.
The Easbit Bitcoin wallet’s main functions are exactly what most novice users are looking for: sending and receiving money without too much mumbojumbo. Users will always be in full control of their Bitcoins, as all Bitcoin-related data is saved on the smartphone itself, rather than on Easbit’s servers. In doing so, Easbit provides an additional security measure to keep users’ funds from harm in case their servers would be breached.
“We have been working on this application for over 6 months, and we are now finally ready to present ourselves to the world. Easbit’s main objective was to provide users with a secure and easy-to-use mobile Bitcoin wallet, which we have achieved,” Easbit CEO Patrick van Ek told CryptoArticles.
Now that the Android version has been released, the Easbit developers are focusing their attention on releasing their Bitcoin wallet application across all other mobile operating systems in the near future. No official release dates have been announced at this point, but we will be monitoring the situation closely.
