A few days ago, we reported on BitBay releasing their updated client, which includes the feature to create smart contracts directly from your BAY wallet. Today, we have received some screenshots of the very first smart contract being created through the new client. David Zimbeck is also working on a small bug, so let’s look at that information as well!
One of the major selling points of BitBay is the fact they allow users to create smart contracts from their client. While the feature has been added in the recently released client, it took a while before someone actually created the very first smart contract.
By the looks of it, that probably had to do with a minor bug causing an error message when trying to create a smart contract in the BAY client. The message is “return address not loaded”, which occurs when you check both BitMessage and email address.
As a result, this value will default to email, which is not loaded. This issue only seems to occur when a user tries to send the smart contract to a BitBay address, instead of a BitMessage address. In order to fix this bug, David Zimbeck will be adding a check for the email address, and if it has not been loaded, the client will not default to the email address any longer.
But on to the good news, as we do have several screenshots showing the created smart contract through the BitBay client. A special thanks goes out to Bitcointalk user Unusualfacts30, who successfully created this smart contract with the help of David Zimbeck :
