We at CryptoArticles are working on Christmas day in order to bring our readers the most interesting news in the world of cryptocurrency. One of those interesting projects in GEMS, the social messaging app which is scheduled for release soon. Ever since the announcement of GEMS using Telegram as a software base, several questions arose in the community. Let’s check out the latest information, shall we?
First of all, the GEMS Android Showcase video has been published on Youtube. While we have seen most of the actions showcased in this demo video before, the actual footage in this Youtube clip is recorded on a Nexus 5. Even though the client is not available for download just yet, the layout looks very crisp and easy to use.
Especially the part where you can see the user transferring money to another user. Instead of using a wallet address, or going through several menus and submenus, all it takes is a line specifying the amount, and then the coin. All of this is made possible thanks to the implemenation of aliases, where each Gems username represents a wallet address alias. Whereas the video “sends” 100 gems, the same technique can be used to send Bitcoin, in the form of “0.01 Bitcoin” for example.
One of the community questions that arose from the GEMS Android showcase video is why they are using 100 “gems” while the token on Koinify is called “gemz”. Have no fear, as both “gems” and “gemz” are recognized by the system, and will result in a successful transaction.
It has been previously mentioned how the GEMS app will be based on Telegram’s source code, at least whereas the Android version is concerned. We need to rectify that, as both the Android and iOS GEMS applications will be built on top of Telegram’s source code, allowing both apps to communicate with each other.
Last but not least, the GEMS pre-sale on Koinify is still ongoing, and things are looking very bright so far. With over 33 million GEMZ tokens sold to date, which is worth over 2,000 Bitcoin, over 60% of the entire pre-sale amount has been sold so far.
As of right now, 1 Bitcoin buys you 11,000 GEMZ tokens for the next 4 days and 2 hours. After that period, 1 Bitcoin will buy you 10,000 GEMZ for the next 5 days, until it reduces again by 1,000 tokens per 5 days. Make sure to check out the GEMZ pre-sale on Koinify!
