Time to talk about Inside Bitcoins London 2014 day two! If you haven’t read my article about day 1 yet, you can find it by clicking here. Day two was a bit of a mixed bag, but I will gladly tell you all about in this short article.
When both Serge and myself arrived at The Grange St Paul’s for Inside Bitcoins London day two, we noticed there were hardly any people in the vicinity. Not too surprising, if you take into account the CoinScrum afterparty the day before was packed with attendees.
However, once we took a glance inside the Conference Room. pretty much everyone was sitting there listening to the opening keynote presented by Nicolas Cary. Ourselves on the other hand, we went to talk with some more exhibitors!
CoinSimple has a nice booth there, and we were greeted by Nikos Bentenitis, who is both very charming and very energetic. He gave us a rundown of what CoinSimple brings to the table (more on that in an article tomorrow), and asked us about what it is we do at CryptoArticles. A very pleasant and fun conversation, and we were truly honoured to meet him.
CoinSimple was actually sharing a booth with Factom, a US-based company which we will talk about more at some point next week as well. They were handing out free T-shirts though, so we just had to get one! Not because they were free in itself, but because we promote service while wearing them as well.
Our first panel of the day was up next, titled “The Future of Altcoins”. As CryptoArticles mainly focuses on altcoins , this was of particular interest to both Serge and myself. We were extremely disappointed with the panel itself, and some of the things said by certain panelists. You will be able to read all about it either tomorrow or on Sunday.
Over the next few hours, we went from exhibitor to exhibitor, learned about new services, how much the battle between Bitcoin hardware mining companies is heating up, and met very interesting people. A special thank you to AMT for the chat about Belgium, AlphaPoint for their amazing-looking exchange engine, and Jumio for valuable insights into what they are bringing to the table!
The day wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t run into Michael Morris again of course, who is always in the midst of very exciting discussions at any time of day. He is always a good source for meeting new people as well, so no complaints there!
After lunch, which was once again of top-notch quality, we left the venue around 2:15 PM and went for a drink amongst the three of us. The remainder of the panels wasn’t of particular interest to us, and we were very tired from the lack of sleep as well.
Overall, we were both very pleased with Inside Bitcoins London, and we will do our best to be a part of it again next year. We are looking into attending other Inside Bitcoins events as well, as they will be in Paris in November and Berlin early next year. Exciting times are ahead of us!
