The new VeriCoin client is available for download. The new built-in VRC/Fiat option is slowly being rolled out in stages. The Macintosh wallet and Linux wallets are ready for download, while the WIndows client is still being compiled as of this writing.
The reason why the Windows compiling takes a bit longer, is because special flags are required in order to make ensure openssl compatibility. Once the updated VeriCoin client for Windows is compiled, you will be able to download it on the official website.
Now I did mention there will be several phases. the way this VRC/Fiat options works at the moment is it creates a portal in which you are redirected to the Moolah.io website. Without a verified Moolah.io account, you cannot purchase VRC with fiat.
Phase two will feature a fully customized exchange portal , which will be a bit more pleasing on the eye, and most importantly, far easier to use. Once phase two is complete, there will be no new wallet, as the current new wallet will connect to the new portal automatically.
No hard deadline on phase two is being given at this point, and I can understand the reasoning behind this. Rest assured, VeriCoin community members, it is coming. That’s all you need to know really, as you can’t rush proper coding.
