After receiving a few requests on Twitter to do an article about a digital currency we didn’t talk about yet, the time has come to take a closer look at RoxCoin. The tagline seemed interesting : “Crypto With A Beat That Rox’s” . Alright, here we go!

RoxCoin is a digital currency developed for musicians, song lovers and Crypto enthusiasts all over the world. The team has collaborated their passion of music and Crypto to create a very unique coin that truly ROX’s !

RoxCoin was launched a few days ago, on June 28th 2014. To be honest, RoxCoin was ninja-launched, and with a Proof-of-Work phase that only lasted for 24 hours, you had to be quick to mine some ROX.

During RoxCoin’s Proof-of-Work phase, a total of 4.5 million coins have been generated, spread over 1,440 blocks.

As RoxCoin is currently in full Proof-of-Stake phase, wallet owners will start receiving stake interest after 8 hours, with no maximum coin age. PoS interest will be generated at a rate of 1-8% per year, starting with 8% (I assume).

As of this writing, there are no future plans announced for RoxCoin. Keeping in mind this is a digital currency aimed at music lovers and musicians, there are a lot of possibilities. We will keep an eye out for any further announcements.
