Today is a very important day for the ShadowCash community, but also for any cryptocurrency enthusiasts out there trying to keep up-to-date on anonymity technology. A new SDC client has been released, which includes the much anticipated ShadowSend V2 amongst other features. Furthermore, the ShadowCash Zero Knowledge whitepaper has been released as well. Time to take a closer look, wouldn’t you agree?
Shadowcash Client Update
Let’s start off this article by looking at the new goodies coming with the updated SDC client. First of all, multiblock download has been added, which is a nifty little feature available for both Thin and Full modes. No one wants to wait around for that blockchain to download longer than they have to.
ShadowChat, which is the encrypted messaging implementation for ShadowCash, has undergone an update as well. Instead of showing the total message count, it will now only display the unread messages count, which makes a lot more sense.
A lot of smaller changes can be found in the new SDC client as well : a HTML options page, an option to display transaction types, a selection method for notification types and the option to enable/disable Thin Mode from the options menu.
But all of that is not what our readers are interested in the most, as they want to know everything about ShadowSend V2 , Zero Knowledge proofs for anonymous transactions, and what the deal is with ring signatures.
Let’s start off with anonymous Zero Knowledge transactions. The good news is these transactions will be made possible once you update your ShadowCash client. The bad news, as far as you can call it bad news that is, is we have to wait until block 257,000 before they will actually work. This is done in order to avoid the blockchain from forking.
An interesting part of these anonymous transactions are the ring signatures. While this is not a new feature, there have been some debates in regards to the implementation of these signatures. A Ring size suggestion has been made in the whitepaper, which we will look at in a bit.
Last but not least, there is ShadowSend V2. The main change about this updated feature comes in the form if implementing the latest advancements in zero knowledge cryptographic primes. A special thank you goes out to tecnovert, ShadowCash’s dedicated privacy technology developer.

We have referenced to this newly released whitepaper a few times in this article, so it’s about time we give our readers the download link. While we could look at some of the features being mentioned, most of it is beyond my technical knowledge, so I’ll leave that up to our readers.
