In order to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies more mainstream, we don’t need just more major retailers, but also try to convince smaller webshops to start accepting Bitcoin payments. While there are several options available at this point in time, having extra options is never a bad thing. Shapeshift.io has entered that space, thanks to the launch of their Shifty Button.
Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts will have heard of Switzerland-based Shapeshift.io by now, as they are making quite a name for themselves ever since their inception. The main feature of Shapeshift.io is how they allow users to exchange cryptocurrencies without the need of creating an account. Furthermore, all cryptocurrency exchanges are executed in a fast and secure manner, making it an excellent platform to use.
As the world of Bitcoin and digital currencies is evolving at an incredibly rapid pace, all related services have to remain on their toes and act accordingly. Shapeshift.io is definitely on the ball in the early stages of January 2015, as they have just released a new feature for online business and retailers called the Shifty Button.
The Shifty Button allows anyone to accept Bitcoin payments quickly and easily, as this is a free HTML plugin which needs to be added to the checkout process’ web pages. Once added, customers can start paying with cryptocurrency immediately. More importantly, not just Bitcoin is accepted, as up to 10 different altcoins can be accepted by the merchant.
“As the altcoin industry continued to grow over 2014, ShapeShift realised that there was a definite need for an easy way for businesses to incorporate altcoin payment options onto their online stores. The easier the process is, the more places altcoin users can buy goods online, and the more growth the altcoin community will see in 2015,” ShapeShift CEO Beorn Gonthier told us.
Shapeshift is checking all boxes with the launch of their Shifty Button. Not only is it free of charge, which is always a good thing, but it’s also easy to integrate and set up. Last but not least, merchants are not required to sign up for an account in order to use the Shifty Button, adding to the overall user experience.
