Just recently, we talked about the possibility of using Bitcoin to venture into space with Virgin Galactic. But, it seems that Sir Richard Branson – owner and CEO of Virgin Galactic – sees more in Bitcoin than just a payment method. In fact, he will be one of the hosts for Blockchain Summit, an event taking place at the end of May, inviting experts on the blockchain, digital currency, and Bitcoin.
Blockchain Summit at Necker Island
The name Necker Island might ring a bell for some of our readers. This is Sir Richard Branson’s private island, located in the British Virgin Islands. And, Necker Island will also become a major name in the world of Bitcoin and digital currency, as this will be the place where Blockchain Summit takes place next month.
By bringing together the top thinkers in the fields of Bitcoin, blockchain technology, and digital currency, Blockchain Summit could be one of the most fruitful events of the past few years. With the cream of the crop, in terms of participants, hosts and moderators, all gathering at this event, the outcome could be something truly amazing.
Sir Richard Branson sees a great deal of potential in blockchain technology. Not just for himself and his companies, but for the entire world. He strongly feels that all of humankind should be able to enjoy the benefits made possible by adopting blockchain technology. However, there is no framework in place, yet, to do so. That will hopefully change after Blockchain Summit.
Other hosts of Blockchain Summit are world-renowned names in their various fields of expertise. Valery Vavilov is the CEO of BitFury, one of the very few Bitcoin mining hardware manufacturers that have remained in business despite all of the hardships endured over the past few years. And, what about Bill Tai, VC and Angel Investor who also co-founded MaiTai Global?
There are also the likes of George Kikvadze, Managing Director of GCF Fund, US$6 billion private equity partnership. Mr. Kikvadze is also a Vice Chairman for BitFury. Last, but not least, there is Suzi Mai, Co-Founder of MaiTai Global and a pro kiteboarder. Overall, the Blockchain Summit hosts represent quite a few different areas of expertise, which will be put to good use when devising a strategy for the future of blockchain technology.
30 Luminaries To Be Invited
The plan is for Blockchain Summit to host 30 luminaries representing the world of Bitcoin, blockchain technology, and digital currency. Popular names such as Jeff Garzik, Juan Llanos, Brock Pierce and Barry Silbert have all been confirmed as participants, so far. While the list is not yet complete, we can only hope to see at least one reputable Bitcoin journalist on that list soon.
