When we try to bring cryptocurrency, and more specifically altcoins to the general masses, the use of social media is a good way to go. With Twitter and Reddit tip bots at the ready, and soon Facebook integration as well, things are headed in the right direction. But why not build an altcoin on top of a popular social network? Meet SocialxBot!
Twitter is one of the most widely used social networks out there, and it would be a nice breeding ground for creating awareness about your coin. SocialxBot allows users to do automatic trading of xBot and Bitcoin on Twitter via xBotMe.
XbotMe is a series of processed and automated bots handling the cryptocurrency integration for Twitter. As a platform, it is layered with multiple forms of security such as password protection, and two-factor authentication will be made available soon as well.
But that is not all xBotMe can do. Let’s say you want to send some money (read : xBot) to a random person directly. Send a direct message to xBotMe, and you can send money to anyone in the world using Twitter. Simple, no?
In order to register an account with xBotMe, simply follow @xbotme on Twitter, which will present you with an initial account request. Other individuals can also send you an invite, should the need ever arise.
It is important to mention you can also withdraw your xBot from Twitter at anytime. Coins can be transferred to a wallet, an exchange or service. No further explanation was given at this point , except that it should be relatively easy to use.
But what about anonymity, which still seems to be an important feature to so many people in the world of crypto? SocialxBot allows for the use of anonymity and arbitrary messages, meaning you can send a transaction anonymously, and receive a message once the order has been processed.
Xbot Chat is a very interesting platform (which is currently down for some odd reason), as it serves as an open platform alternative to Twitter. OpenID, hahstags, Twitter/Facebook integration , Live Stream and Attachments features are all at your disposal.
Even though all of the above sounds relatively interesting, I’m not sure I care enough about SocialxBot to ever use it to be honest. With so many different Twitter tipping platforms out there, such as ChangeTip and Cryptiv, do we really need a new coin for these features?
If you look at SocialxBot’s ICO, you are inclined to say the world really needs this. A total of 1 million Xbot was sold, and 93.4535 Bitcoin was raised in the process. These numbers mean half of the total coin supply was sold during this ICO.
The rest of the coins were mined over the course of 5,000 Proof-of-Work blocks, which ended a few days ago. The only way to get xBot right now, is either buying it on exchanges, or hoping somebody sends you some.
Speaking of exchanges, xBot can be traded at AlcurEx, BitTrex, Cryptsy and CoinBroker.
