A few months ago, we mentioned how the Darkcoin Foundation has been formed. While this Foundation will not serve as a legal entity, it does bring some interesting tools to the table in terms of marketing and community-developed projects. The main focus will be on marketing and pushing Darkcon adoption to new heights, so let’s take a look at some of the ideas being kicked around.
Children and Young Adults
Children and young adults are our future in every aspect of life, and cryptocurrency is no different in that regard. One of the things I have noticed myself is how the “youngest” people I know in the world of digital currency are 23 and older. There is a huge untapped market in the younger demographic,starting at the age of 5-6.
Even though there are Bitcoin initiatives who target the younger demographic, the same cannot be said when it comes to altcoins. The Darkcoin Foundation is looking at ways to market children and young adults in a variety of ways. Not only is this a great way to make DRK as user-friendly as possible, but it will also help in catering to the “senior” demographic.
One of the ideas being kicked around at the moment is to create different kinds of Darkcoin wallets. One regular client, as we all know at this point in time, but also a version aimed at children and young adults. Said client could come packed with different kinds of themes and colors, as well as a DRK test module to learn everything there is to know about Darkcoin and its features.

While this will also help catering to children and young adults, the Darkcoin Foundation is considering putting up additional video content on the Darkcoin website. One of the ideas being proposed is to have a video with both children and adults of all ages and ethnicities to be interviewed, and all of them stating why they use and/or like DRK.
Do keep in mind this video can not be a rushed job and will require professional editing. However, the community is more than welcome to send in short clips of themselves expressing their interest for Darkcoin. All of this is just in the brainstorming phase for now, and nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.
Targeting specific “niche” audiences
Because of all the technology brought to the table by Darkcoin, its community and all of the merchants accepting DRK payments, there are some niche markets which could prove to be interesting targets for a dedicated marketing campaign. One of these markets could be all sorts of current Bitcoin Mixers clients.
However, investors are always an interesting avenue to explore. A lot of people have invested in Bitcoin since the early days because they recognized its potential to become “the next big thing”. Darkcoin community members feel they can adapt that message to DRK as well, so it will be interesting to see what they can come up with.
On that same topic, why not cater to all existing Bitcoin users as well? Even though most people are plenty happy with the current state of Bitcoin, certain groups of people are looking for features which can be found in DRK, among other coins.
Last but not least, there are lots of people who value anonymity and privacy above all else, not just for their financial situation, but also in regards to communication and other parts of daily life. Tor users, as well as general anonymity “lovers” could become future Darkcoin users, so they will be looked at as well.
