The Sterlingcoin team will be releasing a client update, which brings a ton of changes and updates. In total, over 250 files have been updated, fixed, and the legacy code has undergone a massive cleanup. Let’s take a look at some of the details!
First of all, the new Sterlingcoin client has gone through a cosmetic upgrade. Both the splash screen (when you open the wallet), and the “About” graphics have been updated, and look more in line to the rest of the client. Icon legibility has been massively improved as well, thanks to a complete style overhaul.
For those SLG users who have “for staking only” activated in their Sterlingcoin client, their wallet will re-lock automatically after sending a transaction. This is a feature requested by a few community members, and it’s always positive to see the developers respond to that.
I did mention a lot of legacy code has been cleaned up. Apparently, there was a bit of dead/unused code in the previous SLG client, but that has been rectified with the new release. Because of these changes, it is advised all users update their SLG clients as soon as possible, in order to avoid any potential issues down the line.
Last but not least, a new feature has been added to the Sterlingcoin client. Address to address messaging with compression encryption will be available to all users once the client has been released on December 22nd. It will be interesting to find out more about this feature as we get closer to the release date.
