If you have been keeping a close eye on the ongoing Syscoin developments over the past week or so, you will have noticed their decentralized marketplace is slowly taking shape. A web version is available for testing, as we reported here. But the SYS team isn’t satisfied with just that, as they also want someone to develop a desktop marketplace application.
In fact, both the developers and the Syscoin community want this to happen so badly, they even started collecting a massive bounty to see this project come to fruition. As of this writing, the total SYS bounty for completing this project is currently 635,000 SYS, which is worth roughly 0.67 Bitcoin at the current exchange rate on Bittrex.
While this amount might not seem all that significant to some of you, it is interesting to note the original bounty amount was 100k Syscoin. Thanks to various community members and early investors chipping in, this amount has now increased to 635k SYS, and might increase even further as time progress. (Source)
Roadmap Update
As we mentioned in this previous article, there would be an update to the Syscoin development roadmap soon. We also mentioned how the developers were working towards releasing version 0.1.6 of the SYS client, on which we expect more information around the date of November 24th.
Mobile Syscoin wallets for both iOS and Android are expected to be released at the end of November. Do keep in mind these mobile wallets have been built from scratch and will include features unique to Syscoin. On November 29th, version 1.0 of the mobile SYS wallets will be released.
The day after, on November 30th, BlockMarket will go in beta testing. BlockMarket is the open source web front for the Syscoin decentralized marketplace, and vendors will be able to sell items directly from their SYS wallet in a user-friendly manner.
Early December is the time period when the Syscoin wallet user interface will receive a (much needed) upgrade. On top of that, mobile-friendly features will be included in this V2 wallet beta as well. Last but not least, the unique data-service feature of Syscoin will be leveraged, enabling clients to auto-update in the future. Very interesting times ahead indeed!
