One of the major announcements in terms of merchants accepting Bitcoin payments came when Overstock.com Patrick Byrne broke the news. To make that announcement even better, Overstock.com would keep 10% of every Bitcoin transaction in BTC, while converting the rest to fiat currency. The stage was set for a fruitful partnership to take Bitcoin to the next level.
A Healthy Portfolio of Cryptocurrency Holdings
Despite the risk associated with keeping a portion of each transaction in BTC, Overstock.com felt confident they would be boosting the Bitcoin economy in doing so. After all, most merchants accept Bitcoin and convert the full amount to fiat currency, creating sell pressure on Bitcoin exchanges.
I (Serge) recently had the honor and privilege to interview Radoslav Albrecht, Founder of Bitbond; during which I asked his opinion on Bitcoin, digital currency and the Bitbond project. Mr. Albrecht gave us some interesting insights into his personality, his thoughts and how he views the world of economics we live in right now.
Serge: Can you tell us a bit about yourself? When did you get interested in Bitcoin?
After having received many positive reactions from their customers Anycoin Direct has analysed the possibilities of offering additional payment methods to their customers. In order to improve the access to the platform for their customers, Anycoin Direct will now also accept SOFORT and online bank transfers.
SOFORT is available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and Slovakia…
Due to SOFORT’s wide acceptance, this payment method can be used by more than 12 million people. Online Bank Transfer (OBT) is provided by the Skrill-Group and is being supported by almost all the German, Austrian, Italian, Swiss and Spanish banks.
Today marks a very important day in the world of digital currency and altcoins, as the Blocknet ITO is underway. This ITO is being hosted by CoinGateway, where you can exchange all participating coins in exchange for BlockNet ITO tokens. Do keep in mind that when you purchase BLOCK through any participating altcoin, you will receive a 10% discount on the price!
These participating altcoins are StealthCoin , SONIC, BitSwift, Apexcoin, Utilitycoin, FIBRE, Xcurrency and Librexcoin. This is not the complete list as far as we are aware, as XCash is still missing. But I am sure XCash payments will be enabled sooner rather than later, so there is no need to worry just yet!
The Bitcoin ATM space is very competitive with established brand names vying for the top spot, while new manufacturers are crawling out of the woodworks all over the world. You can now add the very first Portuguese-made Bitcoin ATM to that list of competitors.
When entrepreneurs digital currency , good things are bound to happen sooner or later. Joaquim Lambiza, who is not only a Bitcoin enthusiast but also an experienced IT consultant, produced his very own Bitcoin ATM.
During our news reporting, interviews, articles, academic life, and networking, we made some interesting connections and friends. So why not do a special interview with some of our connections we’ve build up? That is the exact thought we at CryptoArticles had.
However due to the high status and fame these people and their companies have, we will not use their original names. These prominent people speaking out for or against a digital currency will have an influence on the price of said crypto and the stock price of the companies where there people are working.
When browsing on the internet we discovered an article about Bitcoin and Belgium. This is on itself pretty rare. When reading multiple articles on “digital currency isn’t taxable in Belgium yet” the tone is overly enthusiastic. We would caution all of you to be too enthusiastic about it and we will have to correct some conclusions that the other news sites have drawn. Mainly because other news sites do not know Belgium and the current situation as well as someone who is living in Belgium and has decades of experience dealing with the Belgian government and doing research in Belgium.
What the world of Bitcoin, altcoins and Crypto 2.0 needs is more positive stories. While the following story might not make a great impact on you or your life, it still shows novice users there is some good to be found in our world of cryptocurrency.
When I woke up this morning, and was eating my breakfast, I noticed I had received a private message on the BitcoinTalk forums. Not a unique event, as I usually get several a week for article requests or just general feedback.
Big was my surprise when I read the following message :
We heard a lot of good thing about CEX.IO during the past couple months. It was quite interesting to see them “in the flesh” so to peak at Coinsummit in London. Serge Schouterden from CryptoArticles asked the lovely Miss Helga Danova if she would be interested to do an interview about CEX.IO. Miss Danova was delighted to do this, so without further delays: here is the interview.
I really like to watch a good documentary once in a while. Not just because it’s more relaxing compared to watching a movie or TV show, but because I like to learn new things. Today, I received an email about an upcoming feature-length documentary covering DogeCoin and emerging altcoins. That really got me excited!
You may have noticed my other article about a documentary, called Bitcoin : The End of Money As We Know it, which has gotten great attention from our readers. In case you missed the article, you can find it here.
