So it seems a lot of people have taken an interest in FractalCoin lately.I’m glad to see this, as FractalCoin is definitely looking good. In case you missed our first article, you can catch up here. So what has changed since then? Let’s do a quick recap!
First of all, the Slingshield feature has kicked in a little while ago, effectively reducing the block reward to 1 coin per block. The other amazing thing Slingshield does, is offer extra network security against double-spend attacks.
When I did the FreshCoin article yesterday, I came across a feature called SlingShield. After someone pointed out to me this feature was originally developed by FractalCoin, I decided to look into this digital currency more, so here we are!
FractalCoin was launched about a month ago, on June 12th. As this is a X11 digital currency, it is very appealing to miners. With a two-phase distribution plan, and the implementation of SlingShield, things are looking good.
When hard forking FractalCoin, some minor issues creeped up. A flaw in the fork checking code was detected, as it only considered raw block height, and thus did not properly validate the new fork.
