Despite Bitcoin’s precarious status in Australia, there is still a lot of interest in mining the virtual currency. Australia’s largest Bitcoin mining operator, called Bitcoin Group Limited, will hold an Initial Public Offering on the Australian Securities Exchange. By doing so, Bitcoin Group Limited becomes the first Bitcoin IPO on a major global exchange platform.

I have received a fair amount of requests to do an article about EuropeCoin, so I guess I’d better do it. Not as soon as everyone would have hoped probably, but I’m quite a busy person lately, so better late than never!
So what is EuropeCoin, you ask yourself? EuropeCoin is a X11 Proof-of-Stake/Proof-of-Work hybrid with some interesting features built in to the client. There’s also a 1% pre-mine, which shouldn’t bother anyone really.

Yes, yes, another short article about H2OCoin. At least they’re trying to make an effort, compared to a lot of other crypto currencies out there….
Either way, it was announced today that H2OCoin have sent their donation of 17.5 Bitcoin, or $7,904 at the time of the transaction, to The Water Project.
You may recall that, when H2OCoin launched a little while ago, they held an IPO where you could purchase H2OCoin before launch.
Half of the funds gathered through the IPO would then be used as a donation to the first water charity they supported, which is The Water Project.
BatCoin is holding an IPO. While that is nothing new in the cryptocurrency world, there are a few things to it that might catch your eye.
True, BatCoin has been around for a while now, so why hold an IPO? Isn’t that usually something a coin developer does before the launch?
Yes, if they are looking to be either very innovative, or just trying to scam people. Currently, that’s a 50/50 chance with coins that aren’t released yet.
BatCoin, however, is doing an IPO after its launch, in order to collect funds so BatCoin can (finally) get listed on Cryptsy. In order to do so, however, a few Bitcoin is required in order to “bribe” Cryptsy votes.
MinerTokens is taking a very unusual approach towards promoting itself before the coin is launched on March 10th. It will be a coin by the miners, for the miners. Interested yet?
The idea behind Minertokens is pretty simple, even though some people might argue it will be overly ambitious to make such claims and promises.
By mining MinerTokens, you will not only be able to exchange your coins for Bitcoin or Litecoin, but you can also rent mining hashpower with it. Comparable to services like LeaseRig and BetaRigs.
A new coin will be launched in a few days, called SnoopCoin. As you can imagine, the coin is banking off the success of Snoop Dogg. We have seen this kind of behavior before,, and all know how well that went, right?
Either way , SnoopCoin will be launched on March 6th. SwissCex will open up trading of SnoopCoin from the day of the launch, so that might be worth something, even if it’s just for a quick pump and dump.
SnoopCoin will have a variable pre-mine of somewhere between 0.5% and 3%. The final number will depends on how many coins are sold during the IPO phase.
You’ll all most likely be familiar with CoinEx by now.They’re both an exchange , as well as a collection of mining pools for a few dozen cryptocurrencies.
CoinEx is pretty popular among the cryptocurrency community, and they might even become more interesting now, as they have IPO’d on CryptoStocks.
You can buy “shares” of CoinEx on CryptoStocks, currently priced at 0.04 Bitcoin each. In return for this share, you will receive a dividend, starting May 2014.
