E-commerce giant Shopify has launched its new blockchain suite of products for merchants. This development is expected to improve user experience on web3-based stores hosted on Shopify. In addition, merchants can utilize token gating and leverage new features on the expanded wallet ecosystem.

POS Giant Clover Teams Up With Strike To Bring Bitcoin’s Lightning Network To Millions Of Merchants

A 90-day trial period kicks off Clover’s integration with the Bitcoin Lightning Network, enabling faster, cheaper payments at merchants.

Strike CEO Jack Mallers has taken to Twitter to announce that Strike is now an integrated partner with payments giant Fiserv, parent company of Clover. Subsequently, Strike has launched a pilot integration with Clover allowing merchants to accept bitcoin over the Lightning Network.

According to his announcement, the integration is not limited to Strike. Instead, merchants will be able to accept Lightning payments from any source — “From Cash App to a node over Tor. If it can make a Lightning payment, you can use it,” Mallers stated on Twitter. Read more...

Bahrain Approves Bitcoin, Crypto Payments For Over 5,000 Merchants

Bahrain’s central bank approved a partnership between EazyPay and Binance enabling 5,000 POS and online payment gateways to accept bitcoin and crypto.

The Kingdom of Bahrain approved EazyPay to enable Bitcoin payments for over 5,000 merchants in the MENA region.
EazyPay partnered with Binance enabling instant POS and online payments in bitcoin and crypto.
Bahrain recently began testing bitcoin payments through the central bank’s financial services testing platform.

The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has approved EazyPay, an online payments platform, to launch Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments in the region, per an announcement from the company’s CEO Nayef Alawi. Read more...

Tourism cryptocurrency-payments startup TravelbyBit is ready to announce BNB integration across all its merchants, including shopping at Australia’s cryptocurrency-ready Brisbane airport.

Binance announced a $ 2.5 million investment into TravelbyBit on October 6th, 2018. TravelbyBit has quickly followed revealing plans to fully integrate Binance’s BNB cryptocurrency across its platform and its partner retailers.

TravelbyBit partnered with Brisbane Airport, Australia, back in January 2018 to introduce cryptocurrency payments to the airport’s terminal shopping. You Can Now Pay With Bitcoin Via Lightning at CoinGate’s 4,000 Merchants

CoinGate, a bitcoin payment processor, has launched bitcoin Lightning Network payments on its platform, bringing the option to accept Lightning payments to its 4,000 clients.

The Lithuanian company enables merchants to accept bitcoin payments for their products or services. Merchants can keep the funds in bitcoin or CoinGate will convert those funds to Euros or U.S. dollars for customers who want to avoid dealing with bitcoin’s volatility.

In a blog post announcing the launch of Lightning on its mainnet, CoinGate explained that shoppers can pay their affiliated merchants with Bitcoin’s on-chain transactions (a conventional way) or select the option to pay through the Lightning Network, a second-layer solution that works on top of Bitcoin.
