Bitcoin can be used to pay employees in all different kinds of areas. Mixed martial arts might not be in the top 10 of “types of employees” looking to get paid in Bitcoin but that isn’t keeping Jon Fitch from sticking with the digital currency. In fact, Jon is the first MMA fighter to be fully paid in Bitcoin. Quite an interesting turn of events, but it seems to work out quite well.
Bitcoin and sports are a potent mix if applied correctly. In the past, there have been a few digital currency nuances related to sports, with the Bitcoin Bowl being the most noteworthy one. However, that turned out not to be a great success. Installing a Bitcoin ATM at a Mixed Martial Arts gym, on the other hand, might change things a bit.
One Kick Nick’s Mixed Martial Arts Gym
The place to be in Las Vegas is One Kick Nick’s MMA Gym, home of a Bitcoin ATM manufactured by General Bytes and operated by Bitcoin Direct, LLC. This one-way Bitcoin ATM will allow MMA students to purchase Bitcoin at their training gym, thus giving the disruptive digital currency more exposure.
Today is a special day in the world of cryptocurrency and altcoins. Dogecoin, one of the most popular digital currencies to date, is celebrating it’s first birthday today. On this day in 2013, at 03:55:27, the very first block of DOGE was mined successfully. And what a year it has been for Dogecoin, the Shibes, and the world of altcoins.
While Dogecoin started out as a fun project, and was not taken too seriously by most people involved in cryptocurrency, things have turned around quickly. A lot of people took a liking to Dogecoin, including ourselves, despite a somewhat childish branding (or so we thought at that time).
For our final article of the day, we have another update from the Razor team. We have received more information in regards to the ongoing projects, and you might be surprised at hearing some of the news. Let’s dig in!
The Razor SMS gateway is the project getting the most attention from people inside and outside of the community, so we’ll start there. Testing will begin shortly as all coding work has been pretty much completed. No official ETA yet, but we can expect it fairly soon in my opinion.
While watching the World Cup 2014 game between Italy and Costa Rica, I saw a Tweet appear that is both amazing and awesome at the same time. NautilusCoin will sponsor a well-known MMA star for his upcoming fight!
One of the many reasons why this is awesome, is because I myself am a MMA fan. The MMA star in question is Jon Fitch, whose name will ring a bell for several people reading this. His next fight will take place July 5th, and will be broadcasted on NBC.
