One of the things I love most about running your own cryptocurrency website is the ability to post breaking news in regards to altcoins. While altcoins do have a tarnished reputation among the Bitcoin enthusiasts, there are still interesting things going on. For example, the alpha release of the XBridge P2P Code by Dan Metcalf.

Xcurrency Tor Sticks To Start Shipping Soon!

For those of you who have been keeping an eye on different altcoins over the past 6 months or so, you may remember Xcurrency announced a nifty little Tor Stick some time ago. This Tor Stick would come with a pre-installed Linux distro, and then route internet traffic through the Tor protocol.

A batch of USB sticks has been delivered to Dan Metcalf as of yesterday, and they will be shipped out in the very near future. This batch of Tor Sticks will be loaded with a new ISO , which is set to include an updated blockchain, a customized firewall script (allowing Tor only traffic) and the latest version of REV2 in production as of this writing.  Read more...

BlockNet ITO on CoinGateway Extended Until Tomorrow Morning

Some very interesting news in regards to the BlockNet ITO came to light earlier today. Most of you will remember part of the ITO was held on CoinGateway, but was sold out incredibly fast for some unknown reason. Today, we know the reason, so let’s see what happened!

CoinGateway had a certain supply of BlockNet ITO shares (BLOCK) to sell in exchange for the altcoins making up the BlockNet. These coins are FIBRE, Next Horizon, LibrexCoin, XCurrency, SONIC, Apexcoin, BitSwift, Utilitycoin and Stealthcoin. KeyCoin Implements Improved XCurrency’s Anon Mixer (REV1)

The KeyCoin developers have posted an several updates yesterday, which we really should take a look at. More details about their anonymity features and how it will be developed further. Let’s take a quick look.

First of all, let’s start off with the good news for the Macintosh users. The Mac wallet is finally up for download, and can be found here. In other KeyCoin news, the website has been pushed back a bit.

As the website developer actually has a day job (which is, well, web design!),  the switch from HTML5 to a full CMS will take some extra time. The plan is to release a fully working and professional website, not a work in progress.  Read more...
