For those of you who keep an eye on this website at regular intervals, you will remember the article we posted about Viorcoin , which can be found here. As mentioned in that article, once the wallet would be released, it would come with a lot of features including dual-key stealth addresses and VoIP functionalities.
Now that the wallet actually has been released a few days ago, and the VIOR trading market on Bittrex have been opened, let’s take a closer look at how things are going. After all, we all want to see how their VoIP solution holds up when comparing it to other coins such as Korecoin, right?
Before we go into that however, let’s take a look at some numbers first. After the VIOR ICO didn’t raise 50% of its goal on Bittrex, the developer had two options : either cancel the crowdsale and refund all buyers, or open up a 48-hour window where people could get a refund on Bittrex, and continue on with whatever funds remained.
The Viorcoin developer chose the second option, leading to a total of 58.15052654 Bitcoin being raised and 4,500,000 VIOR being sold. Quick calculations show us the price per VIOR was about 1,290 Satoshi, which is a fairly low price considering all of the features this altcoin offers at launch.
Speaking of those features, one of the anonymity features included in Viorcoin on launch is the use of dual-key stealth addresses. Once such an address is generated, it can be used once to receive a transaction, which can not be linked to your existing wallet in any way. We have seen several other cryptocurrencies implement stealth addresses over the past few months as a result.
The other main feature people are interested in is of course Viorcoin’s VoIP functionality, which is called ViorCalls. In order to make VoIP calls, the process looks similar to Korecoin. Select a wallet address, click on it to make it a VoIP address, and you can start calling/receiving calls right away. The VoIP client has been released for Windows and OSX.
As an avid reader of the previous Viorcoin article you will also remember we mentioned a lite wallet would be released which allows instant blockchain synchronization. That VIOR lite wallet has been made available by the developer as well, and can be found here.
Now that the Viorcoin wallets have been released, the ICO on Bittrex has been completed successfully and the dust has settled, how is this cryptocurrency doing pricewise? With just over 13 Bitcoin in 24-hour trading volume on Bittrex , the current price is sitting at 7775 Satoshi per VIOR. Do keep in mind there is a massive gap between buying orders (2215 Satoshi) and the sell orders at that price.
