A while ago, we have talked about one of our favorite cryptocurrencies, called PenguinCoin. Just because we like penguins, as should everyone to be honest.
Either way, it has been pretty quiet in the PenguinCoin community, but that was all a ruse it seems. A new plan has been formed to push PenguinCoin to new heights. And in the process, we will be doing some charitable work too!
PenguinCoin has teamed up with two charities, both of which are pretty well known, though I would guess most of us would only know one. But that’s ok, we will educate you a bit, don’t worry.
I’m sure you have all heard of “Penguin Books”, as they are a British publisher who have been around since 1935. Among the works they’ve published, there are some less known titles such as Moby Dick, Price and Prejudice, and Hamlet.
Penguin Books are working together with the Pearson Foundation, in order to donate books to children who are less fortunate. This initiative is called “We Give Books” , and for every $5 donated, there will be two books sent to their charity partners.
The other charity PenguinCoin is in contact with, is the “Penguin Foundation”, based in Australia. To explain what they do exactly, allow me to quote them directly :
“The Penguin Foundation aims to provide a dedicated source of funding to support little penguin conservation projects on Phillip Island. These include little penguin rescue and rehabilitation in the event of a man-made disaster; building new little penguin nesting areas; monitoring little penguin health and behaviour; protecting the little penguins’ natural environment; and contributing funding to the vital Phillip Island Nature Parks Wildlife Clinic on Phillip Island”
By now, i’m sure you are wondering what all of this has to do with PenguinCoin. Allow me to indulge you for a moment;
In regards to the “We Give Books” charity, PenguinCoin wants to raise as much money as possible in order to send out as many books to those in need as possible.
In regards to the Penguin Foundation, PenguinCoin wants to be a sponsor, but also adopt a penguin. This shouldn’t be too hard once they reach the $75 mark.
Now, as you may have noticed, neither of these charities accept PenguinCoin, or any cryptocurrency, directly for that matter. So how will we get them the funds?
Any PenguinCoin donation will be held in a publicly visible wallet. Once we reach a nice amount, this balance will be converted to Bitcoin, and then to fiat currency in order to send out the funds.
In case you do not have any PenguinCoin, donations in other currencies, such as DogeCoin, FlappyCoin, AuroraCoin are accepted as well. These currencies will be converted to PenguinCoin in order to bump up the price a bit, and attract new investors.
As you can see, the plan for PenguinCoin is pretty solid : partner up with big charities, attract donations in order to both increase the value of PenguinCoin, as well as do a good deed along the way.
For a full list of donation addresses, please visit this thread on BitcoinTalk.
We at CryptoArticles will send over 50% of all donations received through our “Donate” page to this cause.
For that great news, peng.poolerino.com decided to pay 10,000.00 PENG blockfinderbonus directly to the Penguinfoundation. So every Block mined with us, will create 10,000.00 PENG to this great project.
