We recently reported how BlackCoin, a cryptocurrency that is only Proof-of-Stake minted at the moment, can still be mined through the BlackCoin Multipool.
After trying it out for myself, I mined 20447 MintCoin after about 14 hours, with a hash rate of 1.3 Mhash/second. Not bad at all if you ask me.
So far, I haven’t had too many issues with the MintCoin Multipool just yet, except for a few times when my miner wasn’t receiving work fast enough. I assume this happens when we are switching to a different coin, but I’m not sure.
That’s the only downside I have with the MintCoin Multipool really, it doesn’t tell you which coin is being mined at the moment. Not like it matters all that much, but I just like detailed stats.
Overall, the MintCoin Multipool usually operates at a hash rate of somewhere between 40 and 70 Mhash/second, so there definitely is an interest in this project.
As far as fees go, there is a 1.5% mining fee, which covers all costs for transactions, payouts, exchanging fees, et cetera.
My miner will remain pointed at the MintCoin Multipool for a while longer, unless something becomes amazingly profitable again.
