An interesting Tweet caught my eye yesterday while I was having some very fun conversations with intelligent people. Yes, those do take place on Twitter at times. I know it’s hard to image! Either way, I saw an image of upcoming Prypto T Shirts…
If you are new to this site, you probably haven’t figured out my weakness for crypto-related merchandise yet. Owning several shirts, a Bitcoin & BlackCoin polo (soon), a Bitcoin hat, and an EarthCoin coffee mug, you can see why it’s hard for me to resist these temptations.
Regardless of that, Prypto, the recently launched Ireland based company selling Crypto Scratch Cards, announced they will be releasing T-Shirts soon. While this might not be all that interesting to you, it does have ramifications.
I’ll give you an example. How does Bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency, stay relevant? By being in the news. By getting noticed by everyday people on the streets. By hearing people talk about. By seeing someone wearing a Bitcoin hat or T-Shirt….See where I’m going with this?
Even though Prypto has already made headlines online and in the “real world” media, you have to keep pushing the envelope in order to keep people’s attention. Heck, it took Bitcoin 3 years to get any kind of traction.
Even though something as mundane as a Prypto T-Shirt might not make a difference in your opinion, it will in the minds of others. It becomes a topic of discussion. People will get curious. They might even straight up ask you what it is all about.
Merchandise, and more particularly, clothing, is an underutilised promotional tool for any cryptocurrency or related service. People still look at other people’s clothes every day and form their opinions. Don’t you ever try to read whatever’s written on someone’s T-Shirt or hoodie?
Personally, I think this is a great idea by Prypto, and I really hope to see more and more cryptocurrencies and services embrace it. I’ll gladly take a free sample by the way….
Prypto T-Shirts will be available here soon.
