As I’ve mentioned in the article we did on Caishen a while back, which you can find here, Caishen is not just a cryptocurrency, but also a games and applications development company. Their first game, Tiny Elementals, is now available for both iOS & Android!
Having downloaded Tiny Elementals yesterday, I only got around to completely testing it today. Part of that is because Tiny Elementals is a multiplayer game, and I wasn’t able to find any opponents yesterday evening. No worries though!
When I ran Caishen’s Tiny Elementals again today, I was able to play immediately. Probably because more people have had a chance to download it in the meantime. It’s completely free-to-play by the way, no purchases are necessary.
Caishen’s Tiny Elementals is simple : you race against an opponent, and you pick up both coins and abilities along the way. These abilities include freezing your opponent in place or slowing him down for several seconds, throwing fireballs, et cetera.
The levels are well designed, and easy on the eyes. It’s a fast paced game though, and a mistimed jump can cost you the victory. Controls are on screen with pressable buttons on the left and right, left to jump, right to use your abilities.
Now in order to monetize Caishen’s Tiny Elementals, there are microtransactions built-in. You can buy additional coins for real cash, to buy new gear, upgrades like a jetpack, or simply purchase new types of elementals to play with.
“The Tiny Elementals game has been in the making for almost two years. We took on this project as a sponsor, this was done prior to CAI even existing. The project so far has a running cost of 16 BTC and we expect it to run into 32 BTC by the time it’s totally done.”
“None of that BTC is CAI related or funded by it. We sponsored the project to bring it to a conclusion and use it as a cross promotion between gaming and CAIx. We will use any revenue we generate from our apps and games to support CAIx long term.”
All in all, Tiny Elementals is a very fun and addictive free-to-play game supporting microtransactions. The Caishen team announced from their launch this game would be released soon, and they’ve kept their promise. I can’t wait to see what will be next!
