After yesterday’s unfortunate turn of events, it seems as if WhiteCoin is slowly getting back on track. When everyone realized the original developer had bailed, and the Proof-of-Stake never began, people were mad, and rightfully so.
Because of a strong community really however, it seems as if we will get an updated WhiteCoin client today or tomorrow (also depending on what time zone you’re in). Final testing is still underway as of this writing though.
Rumour has it that the new WhiteCoin client will continue on the Proof-of-Work page for another few thousand blocks, before then switching to Proof-of-Stake. We can’t confirm whether this is 100% true or not, so take it with a grain of salt.
The current WhiteCoin Blockchain is safe, thanks to all of the hashpower pointed toward ChunkyPools, the official WhiteCoin Multipool. A P2Pool server has been set up as well, so you can point some hashpower there as well if you like.
It also appears as if there is once again contact between the “interim” developers and the “original” developers. How this happened, or what it exactly entails, is still unknown at the moment, but I guess we’ll chalk it up as a positive thing.
More information about WhiteCoin’s status as we get confirmation from various sources.
