We have received some minor updates regarding SilkCoin, one of the cryptocurrencies that launched very recently. After its first Proof-of-Work stage ended, it has gone a bit silent in the community, but the SilkCoin developer brought us some good news.
First of all, AltAccept, a website where you can and sell any and all legal goods in exchange for a plethora of different cryptocurrencies, now also supports SilkCoin. It will be interesting to see how many people will take up on this offer.
In other SilkCoin news, more seed nodes for the client are expected to be added later today., as they will be hosted on VPS. Some users still experience syncing issues, so more connections is never a bad thing.
There is a debate going on among the community to have the abbreviation for SilkCoin changed from SC to SLK. As the SilkCoin developer pointed out, “it is a bit late for that”. And I honestly can’t see why we need to change it in the first lace.
It’s small changes like these han can make a huge difference for a new coin in the long run. As long as he code is being maintained and updated where necessary, I’m pretty sure SilkCoin will turn out just fine.
