The wait is finally over, ladies and gentlemen, as the long-awaited CAIx Multipool is now officially open for business. As this is the only way besides staking or trading to actually get any CAIx, let’s take a look at what the pool has to offer!
First of all, there are a few different mining algorithms you can choose from, in order to mine CAIx. The usual suspects are Scrypt, X11 and SHA-256. My personal favorite is X11 mining, simply because my GPU’s run a lot cooler.
Judging by the current hashrate on the CAIx Multipool, there is quite some hashpower pointed towards it. On the Scrypt side, we have 36.14 Megahash/s, on SHA-256 we have 29.1 GH/s , and on X11, we have 783.77 Megahash/s. Not a bad start!
As far as profitability goes, compared to LiteCoin that is, we’ll have to await the first 24 hours of mining to come to an end. We will keep you updated tomorrow as to how profitable it is to mine on the CAIx Multipool.
Earlier this week, I also mentioned that CryptoNote mining is available on the CAIx Multipool. While most of you still might not know what this does, it allows you you still use your (older- generation of CPU’s and mine CAIx with those as well.
I’ve currently got two instances of CPU mining running, because you need one instance per CPU core you want to use. It doesn’t exactly display the hashrate you are mining at, but it does tell you (in green letters) when a share has been submitted successfully.
We will keep you updated tomorrow in regards to our first 24-hour earnings , and if we receive any more news and announcements, you will the first ones to know.
