We have so many topics to discuss today, and I’m already 2 hours behind schedule, so let’s get this party started, shall we? First order of the day involves some BlackCoin news, which i’m sure you’re all very excited about!
To be more precise, it actually involves the BlackCoin Multipool, which is once again making strides to attract more miners in order to create more buy pressure on the various exchanges. These changes were announced in BlackCast Episode 1 as well.
One of the gripes a lot of people had with the BlackCoin Multipool, was the fact you could only mine through Scrypt or SHA-256 algorithms. With the summer coming very soon, no one wants to have their miners run too hard, do they?
In order to combat that, the BlackCoin Multipool team added support for two different algorithms overnight : X11 and Scrypt-N. While Scrypt-N isn’t my favorite by any stretch, I do love the additional of the X11 algorithm.
Not just because X11 mining runs a lot faster than regular Scrypt mining, my GPU’s also run 20 degrees cooler, and my fans can run at half their normal speed without issues. Less electricity costs make me a very happy miner.
The X11 and Scrypt-N servers for BlackCoin “mining” are both located in the US, but there are plans to add more servers over time. My assumption would be at least one server in EU and one in Asia as well.
Another small step for the BlackCoin community, which could lead to great success for the BlackCoin value. I’m probably going to switch over to the X11 pool soon, so I will keep you guys updated on how it goes!
