I’m pretty sure most of you readers were glued to your (television) screen yesterday to watch this event, but I just wanted to remind everyone about the Talladega race that took place yesterday, featuring the DogeCoin racecar.
Even though the event was announced weeks in advance, when you have a busy life like mine, you tend to forget those things quite easily. (Busy life as in, writing tons of articles on things that may or may not be relevant to you all).
Either way, we’re slightly getting sidetracked. (See what I did there? Harr harr!). I very much enjoyed watching the Dogecar with Josh Wise behind the wheel . Even though the car finished only 20th, it still got some good camera shots on US national television.
Unfortunately, and this is just a personal gripe I have with this, I had to watch the race through illegal means. As there was no sports channel showing the race live in Belgium, and I didn’t want to download the race after the facts (which is illegal as well), I had to look for a live stream.
As it goes with (illegal) online streaming, there are times when your stream just goes offline for a little while, and then comes back. This made me miss one of the crashes at the end (but DogeCar survived!).
Regardless of all that, it was a glorious moment for the DogeCoin community, and I couldn’t be more proud of what they achieved. If you want to watch some more pictures of the DogeCar, scroll down on the DogeCoin Reddit and you’ll find plenty.
The funniest bit might have been when the FOX announcers had to explain what DogeCoin actually is, and how the hell they managed to sponsor this car. It came out quite OK though, so kudos to that person! Shibepride and all!
We can only hope to see Josh Wise and the DogeCar in more races this year. And I’m pretty sure Nascar wouldn’t mind it either, as it brought a lot of social media buzz to yesterday’s race, which can only be good for business in general.
