After the long awaited WhiteCoin client update that got released at the end of last week, the WhiteCoin Foundation hasn’t been sitting on their hands. There are quite a few updates I would like to bring to your attention.
To get started, the WhiteCoin Foundation has a lot of initiatives that are currently underway. It will, of course, take time to complete these efforts, but there is a great sign of promise. Let’s take a look at the short list :
-
The WhiteCoin Fundraising Drive: Help pay the developers who saved this coin
-
WhiteCoin rebranding proposal: whitecoinfoundation.org
-
Whitecoinpool.com is now SHA-256 & X-11 capable
-
Chunkypools.com/wc & whitecoinpool.com are offering up to 25% of their WhiteCoin profits as part of the Chunky Challenge
-
The WhiteCoin Foundation has launched a public crowdsourcing PR campaign, staffed entirely by volunteers.
-
The WhiteCoin Foundation has begun the process to moving towards even more transparency and community involvement
All of the above is absolutely great, and it shows that the WhiteCoin Foundation members know has to be done in order to keep the momentum going. A cryptocurrency cannot survive without its community, it’s really that simple.
Not to mention, the addition of SHA-256 and X11 mining capabilities to WhiteCoinPool is excellent. Plenty of miners are growing sick and tired of Scrypt mining, and X11 is a worthy alternative. Those GPU’s aren’t paying for themselves you know!
In order to increase community involvement and work towards more transparency, the WhiteCoin Foundation board meeting notes are publicly available on BitcoinTalk. This gives everyone an overview of what has been discussed, and to which conclusion, if any were made.

I’m very impressed with the whole WhiteCoin Foundation, as well as the WhiteCoin community. You really have no idea how much fun it is to be part of the cryptocurrency community for years, and see these kinds of efforts take place.
