It’s time for another update from ZeusMiner, to check in on how things are going with our ordered Scrypt ASICs. As we reported last week, everything appeared to be on schedule, so let’s see if that’s still the case!
For people who still haven’t placed their pre-order, you have until May the 15th to do so, assuming you want to be included in the first batch of shipments that is. After this date, ZeusMiner will start taking pre-orders for batch 2.
Speaking of batch 1 ZeusMiner orders, the first 500 orders will start shipping between May 20th and May 25th, in order to get the miners to the customer as soon as possible. Once those shipments are underway, the rest of the orders will be shipped out.
Chip testing has continued, as a perfect match between chips and PCB boards have to be found. Because this quite a time-consuming process, the ZeusMiner staff has been increased in order t get these tests done faster.
Current, PCB board results vary between 12MH/s and 17.2 MH/s per blade. As you can see, this is quite a huge difference, and needs to be looked into more. These fluctuations can easily cause stability issues down the line.
ZeusMiner have come up with a solution to this issue though, without causing any delays to shipping times. Miners will be shipped on schedule, but they might be performing slightly slower than anticipated. This will be rectified with a firmware upgrade, which should be available to download by the time your mining hardware arrives.
On top of that, everyone who placed an order will receive an upgraded miner, because of the increased Litecoin mining difficulty. Basically, everyone will get the amount of hashpower they initially ordered, plus an additional 12.5% of mining power. You can find the full list of changes by clicking here.
As we also mentioned last week, a ZeusMiner video would be provided to show off the R&D factory. The video has been shot with a cellphone, and the quality isn’t the best, but it’s still watchable. ZeusMiner delivered on their promise!
Last but not least, a ZeusMiner hosting solution for your hardware is now available too, thanks to their partnership with GAWMiners. You will be able to access your hardware through a web interface, at the cost of $5/MH per month.
If you still haven’t placed your ZeusMiner order, time is slowly running out, so you might want to get on that sooner rather than later. We will keep you update as we receive more information from ZeusMiner.
