Bitcoin Center NYC to Welcome Perianne M. Boring, President of the Chamber of Digital Commerce to Thursday Night Satoshi Square

New York – Bitcoin Center NYC,  the city’s only brick-and-mortar institution dedicated
to the further adoption of Bitcoin, announced today that it will host speaker Perianne M. Boring,President of the Chamber of Digital Commerce. The presentation will front-end Satoshi Square this Thursday July 31st and cover the chamber’s commitment to advocating for digital currency, especially in light of recent government regulatory activity. 

The Chamber of Digital Commerce- as the industry’s first U.S. based trade association, the newly launched nonprofit is dedicated to promoting the acceptance and use of digital assets. The chamber realizes the urgency in preventing the government from stifling these innovative, affordable financial services and payment processes. It has further identified the BitLicense regulations proposed by the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) to be severely debilitating to the digital currency industry.

“One egregious aspect is that the NYDFS is only giving 45 days to comment
which is severely inadequate to proposed regulations of this scope.
We are requesting that the NYDFS extend the comment period through the end of 2014,
to allow the industry adequate time to properly review and respond.”

Perianne M. Boring- is the founder and President of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, the first U.S. based trade association dedicated to promoting Bitcoin and digital assets to public-policy makers. Boring is a sought after speaker, and author of the “Boring Bitcoin Report”, a popular industry blog. Prior to forming the Digital Chamber, Perianne served as an economic analyst in network cable news. Additionally, she worked as a legislative analyst on Capitol Hill, advising on finance, economics, tax policy and healthcare policy.
