Today is a very important day for BlackCoin. Even though they are doing incredibly things on a nearly daily basis, there were two projects I hadn’t heard of yet. We have received information about BlkFeed and BlackCoinTalk!
BlkFeed looks absolutely amazing. To put it very simple : BlkFeed is the one-stop hub for everything related to BlackCoin. And by saying that, I literally mean everything. Let’s try to break it down a bit.
The first thing you will notice are the news tiles on the left hand side of the BlkFeed main page. These news titles update in real-time, so it is the easiest way to stay up-to-date in regards to all things BlackCoin. I like news tiles, really need to find a decent Squarespace design for that. Anyway, moving on!
At the top of the “main” part of the BlkFeed homepage, you will notice there are several price widgets. In these widgets, you will find the current BlackCoin price for MintPal and Cryptsy, as well as the 24 hour trading volume.
As a side note : 0 Bitcoin volume on MintPal just goes to show how many people are withdrawing their funds from that exchange…
Over the coming days, we will see an additional section go live, which will give an overview of merchants and services accepting BlackCoin payments. It will be interesting to see a full list of these merchants and services in one convenient place.
BlkFeed wouldn’t be a complete platform without having a built-in IRC client. A custom style for IRC will be coming soon. The feature is easy to use : just fill in a nickname, connect to the Freenode server and off you go.
Other features include integration with Reddit and Twitter, showing all BlackCoin-related posts made on either platform. A special Projects page will be up a well, including a progress bar showing how the development is getting along.
I did mention BlackCoinTalk, which will act as BitcoinTalk, but then specifically for BlackCoin. BlackCoinTalk is built on top of BlkFeed. We can only hope a lot of people will start using the official BlackCoin forums, and move away from BitcoinTalk with all of its non-BlackCoin clutter.
Useful links to the BlackCoin Foundation, the BlackCoin Wiki and the BlackCoin Map are located at the bottom of the BlkFeed webpage. More links will be added over time I’m sure.
Do keep in mind this is version 1,0 of BlkFeed, and more functionalities will be implemented over time. We will also get more color schemes and additional widgets. I’m really looking forward to posting more updates in regards to BlkFeed, that’s for sure!
