Today marks a very important day in the world of digital currency and altcoins, as the Blocknet ITO is underway. This ITO is being hosted by CoinGateway, where you can exchange all participating coins in exchange for BlockNet ITO tokens. Do keep in mind that when you purchase BLOCK through any participating altcoin, you will receive a 10% discount on the price!
These participating altcoins are StealthCoin , SONIC, BitSwift, Apexcoin, Utilitycoin, FIBRE, Xcurrency and Librexcoin. This is not the complete list as far as we are aware, as XCash is still missing. But I am sure XCash payments will be enabled sooner rather than later, so there is no need to worry just yet!
Another coin missing from that list is NeXT Horizon (NHZ). Due to popular demand, the BLOCK shares reserved for the BLOCK/NHZ trading market have all been sold out at an extremely fast rate. I doubt anyone could have anticipated that, but that’s life in the world of digital currency and altcoins I’m afraid.
Or if you prefer to spend some Bitcoin, which is also a possibility, simply head on over to the Bittrex exchange. So far, over 137 Bitcoin (this amounts is excluding the aforementioned altcoins’ volume) has been invested into BlockNet shares, with over 700 Bitcoin in shares still up for sale as of this writing.
Bittrex is not the only exchange where you can purchase BLOCK with Bitcoin though, as Poloniex is also offering the same trading market. Although the volume there seems to be considerably lower, with just over 33 Bitcoin in 24-hour trading volume so far. Poloniex does have an interesting tug-of-war going on between buyers and sellers at the moment though!
Last but not least, Bter also offers a BLOCK/BTC trading market. The Bter exchange seems to have the most BlockNet ITO tokens available for purchase with Bitcoin out of all the exchanges at this point. Over 820 BTC in BLOCK is still up for grabs, so you might want to head over there if you are planning to spend your Bitcoin!
A new document in regards to BlockNet’s budget, development plan and accountability measures has been posted earlier today as well. Lots of developmental plans are scheduled for Q4 of 2014, with a focus on applications and currency gateway coming up in Q1 2015. Q2 of 2015 will be when the BlockNet actually goes live.
