I’m going to try and take a look at a few different new coins today, as there doesn’t seem to be any really big non-Bitcoin news at the moment. BlueChip caught my attention because BitTrex added it earlier today, so let’s see what makes this Crypto special!
“In the stock market, the term “blue chip” is used to describe stable, profitable companies that are a good investment regardless of market conditions. In order to achieve this in the crypto world, we have focused on creating a coin that has a fast and secure network that provides dividends to investors through proof of stake with 15% interest per year.”
“BlueChip was created by a team that has extensive programming, marketing and sales experience to ensure adoption and long-term sustainable growth.”
While this makes for an interesting sales pitch, it’s not something we haven’t heard before, as each and every coin promises to be a stable investment. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as stable investments in Crypto.
BlueChip was created with three main priorities in mind : profitability (well, duh!) , Reliability (not going to happen in Crypto, sorry) and quality. This last point is quite open for debate as everyone has a different opinion on the term “quality”when it comes to coins.
Technical details then! BlueChip is an X13 Proof-of-Work/Proof-of-Stake hybrid, with a mining phase lasting 7 days. During this phase, 15 million coins will be mined. Block rewards are variable, click here for more details.
As far as the Proof-of-Stake part goes, BlueChip will reward holders with s 15% annual stake, which is not bad at all. There’s also a 1% pre-mine, which is used to pay developers for their hard work.
You may have noticed me mentioning BlueChip was added to BitTrex earlier today but that’s not the only exchange where it can be found. Alcurex also has a BCH/BTC market. It will be interesting to see how much volume this Crypto can bring to either exchange.
I hate to sound negative, but I’m afraid BlueChip offers absolutely nothing over any other X13 coin that makes it unique. With no future plans except a multipool announced, I’m not sure what this coin will be used for after Proof-of-Work has ended, except for mass dumping on exchanges.
I’m not passing a final judgement yet, as this coin is new, and deserves a fair chance like every other Crypto. I will keep an eye on further announcements and developments concerning BlueChip, and keep our readers updated accordingly.
