Most people who have been involved with altcoins over the past few months will have heard of Korecoin, and their ambitious plans to create a KorePhone. Overnight, I received some details in regards to the KorePhone progress, sent to me by the development team. Let’s take a look at how things are going, shall we?
KorePhone : What is it?
While I’m sure most of you will already have a basic idea of what the KorePhone will bring to the table, allow me to give you a brief hint of what is to come. The KorePhone will be the next level of smartphone incarnation, as the focal points are privacy and security.
KorePhone will incorporate KoreCoin to provide users with 100% secure and anonymous financial transactions. Secure and anonymous phone calls will take place through the VoP implementation giving users the ability the call any address on the KORE network. Last but not least, secure messaging will be ready from the get go as well.
KorePhone OS : What is it?
The KorePhone (physical hardware) will be coming with its very own operating system, called KorePhone OS. In the information I received overnight, some details have been provided about KorePhone OS version 0.1, and what this operating system is all about.
One of the main reasons for developing KorePhone OS from scratch is to be as secure as possible , which is achieved by letting all KorePhone applications run in a highly secure sandboxed code execution environment. By doing so, the sandboxed code can not misbehave or negatively impact the OS in any way.
In order to make this operating system as attractive as possible, it will be very user friendly towards both consumers and developers alike. Application development will be extremely fast while also proving to be very powerful and very high performance. All of the development is done within a managed environment , giving apps as much freedom as they need while securing the KorePhone platform from potential malicious activity at the same time.
It is interesting to note all KorePhone applications will have internet access through the Tor network and VPN technologies. All of these features are built-in from the start, and will provide additional layers of security. From the developer standpoint, these features are immediately available for your applications, without the need for special coding.
Combine that knowledge with powerful API’s , and you will see why the KorePhone OS provides easy-to-code access for developers. Not just on the phone functions front, but also in regards to hardware, services and high performance graphics.
KorePhone OS Version 0.1 Q&A Session
I always try to keep the juicy bits for last, as I have received the following animated GIF showing off KorePhone OS 0.1 in action. Do keep in mind that all applications still need to be developed, but things are looking promising so far :
