As some of you may have noticed over the past few days, there has been a lot of talk about KoreCoin going on. As a result, a fair few people are accumulating coins on the BitTrex exchange by the looks of it. Let’s take a look at what is going on.
The biggest reason behind all of the talk going on, and the accumulation as well if you ask me, are the recent announcements made by the KoreCoin developers. The next 30 days will be a very interesting period for this altcoin, as some major features are to be released during those days.
When it comes to cryptocurrency, it’s hard to find some features which haven’t been developed, or even if they have been developed, they could be improved. KoreCoin is currently working on providing us with VoIP functionality.
As a frequent user of Skype, which is not just a memory hog but also a pain in the rear most of the time, I do welcome viable alternatives to their service. Whether or not the one being developed by KoreCoin will the one to trump it, remains to be seen. But I do like the way the KORE team is thinking.
There are some things to take into consideration though. An alpha version of KoreCoin’s VOIP service will be released on September 15th. However, the alpha version will not include video functionality yet.
Have no fear however, as once the alpha version has gone through extensive testing, a beta version of the VoIP feature will be released on October 1st. More importantly, the beta version will include video functionality.
In other KoreCoin news, their PoBA feature is also expected to be released on October 1st. PoBA stands for Proof-of-Burn Anonymity, which allows you users to send coins to a specific address in order to have the coins destroyed. In exchange, said user will receive a block with the same reward as the amount of coins destroyed, plus a small interest.
In order to avoid some confusion, the initial coins being sent out to the PoB address will effectively be removed from the total KoreCoin supply. The reason to make this anonymous is so other people can’t find out where a user’s coins are coming from. It basically provides you with a brand new KoreCoin identity.
